In June of 2002, I was smoking another great cigar at a bargain price. I tossed the cigar band in a nice wooden cigar box so I might reference it for a repeat smoke. I was in the habit of tossing most of the cigar bands in that box, great smokes, pretty bands, unusual bands and bands from cigars to never smoke again. Some of those bands had little notes scribbled on the back and some didn’t. It wasn’t long before re-smoking a cigar with a beautiful band reminded me of that first terrible smoke with that same cigar.<\/p>

One day I was enjoying a beautifully made and great tasting cigar while looking at my 1959 baseball card collection. The front displayed the player in a favorite pose, flipping to the back displayed the players statistics. Some were good fielders, some good hitters and some good pitchers. The thought of doing this for cigars struck a nerve, not only for me but fellow cigar lovers and shop owners. The first StogieCards were printed on regular paper with colored border graphics the same size as the baseball cards. Specific information was noted on the front while leaving enough room to attach the cigar band and ranking categories were placed on the back according to my preferences. As time went by, feedback from other users prompted changes that led to today’s StogieCards.<\/p>

Today’s StogieCards are bright with sharp graphics, professionally designed and printed on quality card stock with more designs on the drawing-board for the future.<\/p>

Users have greatly enjoyed the ability to catalogue cigars, save different bands, compare their ranking with national publications’ ranking, avoid smoking the same bad cigar again and record those fantastic smokes. Recording the price paid is another way of adding value to StogieCards. Noting the price paid and where purchased can lead you to the best-buy in town or away.<\/p>
